The Gossip Girl reboot is set to premiere on HBO Max on July 8. Developed by showrunner Joshua Safran, a writer and executive producer on the original series, this reboot is described as an extension of the pop culture classic that takes us back to the Upper East Side for a new generation of New York private schoolers. This class of teens are being introduced to a social surveillance nine years after the original blogger's website went dark.
The series is based on Cecily von Ziegesar's novel and the original show, developed by Josh Schwartz & Stephanie Savage, that ran from 2007-2021 on CW. GOSSIP GIRL explores how much social media and the New York landscape has changed. The show is produced by Fake Empire and Alloy Entertainment in association with Warner Bros Television and CBS Studios.
