Law and Order is back in production for Season 21. The show originally aired on NBC in September of 1990. Twenty seasons later in 2010 the show concluded.
Production for the 21st Season has begun and we captured them working on the Upper West Side on Thursday and Friday, December 9th and 10th. The set was a brownstone off of 76th between Columbus and Central Park West. The street was lined with production equipment, parked NYPD patrol cars, a camera crane, and lighting mostly of the flashing police variety. Caution tape was mapping out the crime scene. Detective Kevin Bernard is back, played by Anthony Anderson and Jeffrey Donavan's character, name unknown at this writing, are accessing the scene.
The new season will continue where the show left off in 2010 according to
wolfentertainment.com. The show will use the classic format exploring two separate, yet equally important groups: "the police who investigate the crimes and the district attorneys who prosecute the offenders". Speaking about the show's return to network television, Dick Wolf explained, "There are very few things in life that are literally dreams come true. This is mine."
Law and Order will be executive produced by Dick Wolf, Rick Eid (writer/showrunner), Arthur Forney, and Peter Jankowski.
