The 4th annual New York City Public School Film Festival is now accepting submissions from students across the boroughs. Submissions will be open through Friday, March 25, 2022. The festival which honors the diversity of student voices is presented by The Mayor's Office of Media and Entertainment (MOME) and the NYC Department of Education.
Films submitted must be 5 minutes or less in length. The following categories are in competition:
Animation
Short Feature / Narrative
Documentary
Experimental
Public Service Announcement (P.S.A.) / Advocacy
Filmmakers will be invited to special screening days May 20 and 21st, 2022. A panel discussion with Industry professionals is programmed to follow the screening. Each film selected will receive a certificate of official selection. Educators and media professionals will choose 20 films for recognition. Notification date for the festival is set for May 6, 2022.
