Larry Gottheim was a leader in American avant-garde filmmaking in the 1970's and 80's. He founded the film program at SUNY Binghamton in the 1960's and as recent as 2016, has produced documentaries along the way.
On September 8th, Maysles Documentary Center will be screening three of his works and aptly named the evening event as "Three Films by Larry Gottheim". He will be present for a Q&A following the screening.
The three films are "Fog Line" (1970), 11 minutes; "The Red Thread" (1987) 17 minutes; and "Mouches Volantes" from Elective Affinities, Part 2 of 4 (1976), 69 minutes. The presentation begins at 7:30pm.
