The 22nd New York Asian Film Festival is presented by the New York Asian Film Foundation and Film at Lincoln Center and will be held July 14-30, 2023. The festival will take place at Film at Lincoln Center Walter Reade Theater and a special weekend of screenings July 21-23 at the Barrymore Film Center in Fort Lee, New Jersey, the birthplace of the motion picture industry in America.

The festival films are from Hong Kong, Japan, China, South Korea, the Philippines, Malaysia, Indonesia, Taiwan, Thailand, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Singapore, Vietnam, the United Kingdom, and the United States. It is curated by executive director Samuel Jamier, associate director Claire Marty, and programmers David Wilentz, Karen Severns, Koichi Mori, and Jenny Lin.

Several Film Talks will take place during the festival schedule. Lee Thongkham (Thailand | Kitty the Killer), Boi Kwong (Singapore | Geylang), and Quark Henares (Philippines | Where Is The Lie?) will get up close and personal to discuss their filmmaking in the  NYAFF Talk: The Southeast Asian Filmmaking Space. Another NYAFF Talk: Asian Diaspora Filmmaker Forum will discuss Asian portrayals in cinema and their real-life implications.

The opening night events are already on a stand by list. The closing night film is to be announced still but has been teased as an all-new, star-studded, family-friendly animation blockbuster.
