Barbara Streisand will be honored with the 40th annual Chaplin Award Gala. The ceremony is traditionally a large fundraiser for the Film Society of Lincoln Center. This year's event will be held April 22, 2013. The inaugural ceremony of this gala was held in 1972 honoring Charlie Chaplin.
Streisand began her film career in 1968 in the film Funny Girl adapted for screen from the hit Broadway show of the same name. Today after a career of Academy Awards, Grammy awards, EGOT, and directorial credits she continues to appear on the silver screen, currently in Guilt Trip now in theaters.
