Naughty Films at the Library: Avant-Garde Works in the RFVC. The New York Public Library for the Performing Arts - Bruno Walter Auditorium at 111 Amsterdam Avenue will screen 16mm films in the Reverse Film and Video Collection. In recognition of Banned Book Week, film historian and programmer Jon Gartenberg will start the conversation along with RFVC Film Collection specialist, Elana Rossi-Snook "Is art naughty?"
Rarely screened works, including Dyketactics (1974) by Barbara Hammer, Fuses (1967) by Carolee Schneemann, and Un Chant D'Amour (1950) by Jean Genet will be presented. Some of the films contain nudity and depictions of sexual activity, therefore, this is a 18 and older event.
