Silent Movies Fundraiser at United Palace (released Tuesday, September 24, 2024) By Kimberly Burke Celebrate National Silent Movie Day Mini Festival at the United Palace on Sunday, September 29, 2024. From 6-8:45pm (includes a 15-minute intermission), you can watch three silent films with 1930 Wonder Morton Organ accompanied live music. The cost of your ticket will be a fundraiser to help restore the organ with a special demonstration planned as part of the event. Organ accompaniment will be performed by Ian Fraser. Featured Films - Laurel and Hardy's "The Battle of the Century" (19 min.) - Charlie Chaplin's "The Adventurer" (24 min.) - Buster Keaton's "Sherlock Jr." (45 min.) The United palace is located in Washington Heights at 4140 Broadway, NY 10033. Doors will open at 5:30pm and the show will begin at 6:30pm.
