New York City Horror Film Festival is an annual December happening. Established by MooDude Films CEO/Producer/Director Micheal J. Hein in 2001, the festival celebrates horror classics you grew up with and the new horror films and filmmakers who created them. Each December, the NYCHFF has special screenings, parties, celebrity guests and free giveaways. When COVID-19 hit the festival expanded to a four day in-person and eight day virtual event. Since COVID-19 has subsided the festival is again live while keeping the virtual component.
Since the passing of Michael J. Hein, the Hein Family continues to keep the festival alive in his honor. The festival will run December 5-8 and "Yes, There Will Be Blood". New Fears Eve will screen in person with its Manhattan premiere on Friday, December 6, 2024 at 7pm. Filmmakers from Blood Moon Pictures are expected to be present for the screening.
Danielle Harris will be honored during the award ceremony on Saturday December 7th. She will receive the Michael J. Hein Personal Achievement Award. Danielle has appeared in over fifty horror films and considered a horror icon. "Among her other memorable credits: Quentin Tarantino's Once Upon a Time... in Hollywood; Zombie's Halloween II; Stakeland; the Town That Dreaded Sundown remake; actioner Marked for Death; franchise slashers Hatchet II and Victor Crowley; Urban Legend; the Creepshow TV series; and many others."
