(released

By Kim Burke
As an up and coming director, if you were given a Hollywood-vetted script, a cast and crew of experienced industry professionals, would you be able to lead your production while meeting a studio's timeline and budget? If you think you can navigate the creative process, set politics, producers and studios expectations, then Project Greenlight may be a GO for you.
Project Greenlight has been a documentary series on HBO with a history of spotting talent. The Project returns with Matt Damon and Ben Affleck as Executive Producers. The show will start with a digital competition to pick the winner who will direct a feature film. The show will then document the winner through pre-production, casting, principal photography and post-production. The project hopes to capture the obstacles and victories of a first-time director.
Submissions for the contest begin July 24 and will be accepted through August 8, 2014. The producers are looking for a 3 minute video of any genre made with equipment ranging from smartphones to standard industry equipment. Be prepared ahead of the submission dates by reviewing the Project Greenlight site: www.projectgreenlight.com
