(released Monday, September 15, 2025)
By Kimberly Burke

The New York Greek Film Expo is an annual event for all New Yorkers. It is happening October 2-12 in several locations. All films are in Greek with English subtitles.

You can find them at the Directors Guild Theater on October 2, Village East in Manhattan from October 3-5, the Barrymore Film Center in Fort Lee, New Jersey on October 7 and 8, and the Museum of Moving Image in Astoria from October 10-12.

The Hellenic Film Society presents this expo and has planned screenings of the latest award-winning Greek films, appearances and talks by leading Greek filmmakers, and a Pantelis Voulgaris Retrospective. Pantelis Voulgaris will be recognized with a Lifetime Achievement Award during the festival as well.

The opening night will kick off October 2 with a US premiere of the comedy Murphy's Law. The film stars two of Greece's most renowned actors Katia Goulioni and Andreas Konstantinou. Both actors and the film's director Angelos Frantzis will attend at the Directors Guild Theater in Manhattan for a Q&A with the audience.

The festival will include six additional new films and filmmakers will be on hand to discuss their films and engage in conversation with the audience.  Comedy, suspense, drama, social impact and more are part of this year's slate of films.  For tickets, schedules and further information, visit www.hellenicfilmsociety.org.
