New York Television Festival Celebrates 10 Years

New York Television Festival has 62 original TV and web series pilots in competition in this, its tenth year.
Longing for a chance to get your idea for a great T.V. show in the ear of network decision makers? What is the name of the buyer for your favorite cable channel's content? What kind of material is the network currently looking for when program planning?
For ten years, the New York Television Festival has tried to answer the questions of independent creators through its annual marketplace for content. From October 20-25, 2014, the festival will be held primarily at Tribeca Cinemas and the SVA Theater.
The festival welcome will be given by A&E Network EVP & GM David McKillop. Show runners from Lost, Girls, and House of Cards will each be giving insight into television production throughout the week. BET will conduct a panel on diversity engaging buyers, decision makers, and creators on the subject. BBC and Toby Whithouse's latest Cold War spy series The Game will be presented.
The festival's associations and partnerships is a notable list. National Geographic, Lifetime Television, MTV, FOX, HISTORY, Comedy Central, NBC, Lionsgate, Paramount Digital, FremantleMedia, SundanceTV, Channel 4 (UK), Condé Nast Entertainment, Travel Channel and ulive, Universal Cable Productions, The CW, Investigation Discovery, WEtv, Pivot, SundanceTV, Red Arrow Entertainment, WME, CAA, and ICM and new this year, Starz.
BAFTA Rocliffe New York Writers Forum will continue to bring top writing talent to the forefront in their annual festival contribution highlighting three original sitcoms through on-stage readings, and feedback from a seasoned professional. This year Stephanie Laing (Veep, Eastbound and Down) will provide some industry insight for the three writing teams.
Friday is Digital Day and the future of the digital content craft is explored. Fresh to the television industry, you will find Development Day on Saturday to be paneled up to date on how you get into the flow of current TV creators. The festival concludes with artists being recognized and many offered development deals for their created submissions.
The New York Television Festival continues to grow the avenues for content creators to have their ideas developed for future televised consumption.
