(released

By Kimberly Burke
Tribeca Film Festival opened with Director Bao Nguyen's documentary film Live From New York. The film took on a thesis of exploring how Saturday Night Live navigated and retold significant points in America's political climate. The show is currently celebrating 40 years of production since starting the first season in 1975.
Director Bao Nguyen, JL Pomeroy, and Tom Broecker, who has also been costume designer for SNL for the past 21 years, were present at the Apple Store in SoHo April 16, 2015 for a panel discussion about the film. Broecker's connection to JL led to her connection to Bao, whom she had collaborated with on a short film project in the past. Together, it meant the team was assembled to give insight into a television show that has made us laugh through presidential candidates on both sides of the aisle as well as public scandals that captivated the viewers' interest.
The film Live From New York is set to open in Landmark Theaters throughout the country June 12, 2015. Below are pictures of the panel moderated by Dana Harris.
