The Amy Schumer penned and Judd Apatow directed film Trainwreck is holding its world premiere on Tuesday, July 14 at Alice Tully Hall at Lincoln Center. Expected to be on the red carpet are director/producer Judd Apatow, writer/co-producer/actor Amy Schumer, actors Bill Hader, Brie Larson, Colin Quinn, John Cena, Vanessa Bayer, Mike Birbiglia, Ezra Miller, Dave Attell, Method Man, Evan Brinkman, Jon Glaser, Bridget Everett, Rachel Feinstein, Kevin Kane, Tilda Swinton and LeBron James. Also expected to attend are producer Barry Mendel and executive producer David Householter.
The film is having a wide release by Universal Pictures on Friday, July 17. This is the world premiere, while a rough cut was screened at SXSW back in March 2015. The film shot in New York City in spring and summer of 2014.
Prior to the world premiere, Amy Schumer will be promoting the film by speaking at the Apple Store in SoHo on Monday, July 13 at 5pm.
Here is how the film is described:
Since she was a little girl, it's been drilled into Amy's (Schumer) head by her rascal of a dad (Colin Quinn) that monogamy isn't realistic. Now a magazine writer, Amy lives by that credo—enjoying what she feels is an uninhibited life free from stifling, boring romantic commitment—but in actuality, she’s kind of in a rut. When she finds herself starting to fall for the subject of the new article she's writing, a charming and successful sports doctor named Aaron Conners (Bill Hader), Amy starts to wonder if other grown-ups, including this guy who really seems to like her, might be on to something.
