The 8th Annual New York City Public School Film Festival is currently accepting submissions. The festival is open to all NYC Department of Education (DOE) middle and high school students. The deadline to submit your film is February 6, 2026.
Student Filmmakers are encouraged to submit films in the following categories:
Animation
Documentary
Experimental
P.S.A./Advocacy
Short Feature/Narrative
The New York Public School Film Festival honors the diversity of student voices, and is presented by the Mayor's Office of Media and Entertainment (MOME) and New York Public Schools (NYCPS).
MOME and NYCPS will present the 8th Annual New York City Public School Film Festival on March 25, 2026 at the Museum of Moving Image. The festival will be bigger and better with multiple screens, room for families, and panels on everything from high school and college admissions to pre-professional programs.
