The 2026 Rockaway Film Festival is taking place September 2-6, 2026 for its ninth edition. On Wednesday evening September 2 at 7pm, Eternity One will screen. The film is from Baltimore filmmaker Marnie Ellen Hertsler and she documents the personal, intimate world of a young girl living on an island that is sinking into the sea. Live music and a filmmaker Q and A will be part of the opening night program.

A free screening of The Muppet Movie will take place September 5 at 10am. Screening at the Arverne Cinema, the 95-minute film from 1979 will include a special guest presentation. Bonnie Erickson, who designed and created the Miss Piggy puppet, will be there!
