The 11th annual New York Television Festival attendees will be treated with a sneak peek at truTV's new original scripted comedy "Those Who Can't". Screening at 8:30p.m., October 20, 2015, the show is about three high school teachers with dysfunctions that meet or beat the kids they teach. Following the sneak peek screening at the SVA Theatre (333 West 23rd Street, NYC), creators/executive producers Ben Roy, Adam Cayton-Holland, and Andrew Orvedahl will be giving a talk-back.
truTV President and Head of Programming Chris Linn stated "Ben, Adam and Andrew from The Grawlix have a unique comedic voice that is a perfect fit at the festival, and we are excited to bring two episodes of this series to those who can't wait until it premieres early next year."
Joining the creators on stage will be actress Maria Thayer (Eagleheart) who plays Abbey Logan, the school librarian, and executive producer/showrunner Dean Lorey (Arrested Development, The Crazy Ones).
truTV has been expanding the relationship with the NYTVF enabling the network access to the independent television community. truTV is actively seeking out comedic creatives who can fit the "Way More Fun" brand. In addition, the network continues to identify and develop in partnership with NYTVF through the truTV Green Light Award.
The New York Television Festival will run October 19-24 and will include the Independent Pilot Competition, industry panels, parties, and insight like Sundance to film, NYTVF is to TV. Starz, A&E, truTV, Red Arrow Entertainment, AMC, UK 4, and others have a pulse on the talent that attend this television happening.
