Immigrant Documentary "Can" at City College

On Wednesday, March 23, there will be a screening event of the documentary film Can at City College of New York. This film is being presented by Maysles Cinema, Third World Newsreel, and the Documentary Forum at City College.
The film follows Can Truong, a refugee that fled Vietnam in 1979 and documents the following 12 years of his mental illness and recovery attempts.
The Korean American filmmaker Pearl J. Park will be available following the screening for a Q&A as well as the Vietnamese American editor Xuan Vu. This event is part of the program An Open Letter to NYC: Immigrant Documentary Filmmakers and Their Films.
Admission is free and the event begins at 6:30pm with Korean and Vietnamese food in Room 290 of Shepard Hall. The screening is at 7:00pm in Room 291. You can RSVP at: documentary@ccny.cuny.edu.
