Do you have a short form animated idea? Do you think that idea could be the next thing on Comedy Central only how do you get it to the right people at Comedy Central? The GreenRoom is your secret portal to the "right people".
Comedy Central launched The Animated Shorts Program October 1, 2018. The program is designed to submit your ideas directly to Comedy Central with the potential to sign a development deal and was announced by Sarah Babineau and Jonas Larsen, Executive Vice Presidents and Co-Heads of Talent Development, Comedy Central.
"We hope the Animated Shorts Program is an evolution of our continuous history of finding the next great comedic voices. We are grateful to the very smart people at Nickelodeon who originated this incubator, and we are excited to put the Comedy Central touch on it with hopefully the same successful results Nickelodeon has found," said Babineau and Larsen.
The Program credits the folks at Nick's Animated Shorts Program that grew the hit animated series LOUD HOUSE at Nickelodeon. Comedy Central has a goal of creating an artist incubator that allows creators a pipeline to development with a brand known for Comedy.
The initiative is being led by Comedy Central Development Executives Jose Acevedo, Ian Friedman, Kelci Parker, and Michael Stanger. The group of executives plan to continue the Comedy Central brand tradition of breaking new comedic talent through programs like The Daily Show with Trevor Noah, Broad City, Drunk History and Comedy Central Presents: Stand-Up.
The Animated Shorts Program is open for submissions and the deadline for submitting is December 31, 2018. The Program seeks submissions that are one to three minutes in length featuring any and all styles of animation, including 2-D, digital 2-D, CG, stop-motion or mixed media.
