Tribeca Film Festival Runs April 24 - May 5

Tribeca Film Festival will be April 24-May 5, 2019. Tribeca Talks are headlines with Martin Scorcese and Robert De Niro in conversation about the decades of work they have collaborated on from Mean Streets (1973) to The Irishman (Fall 2019).
The Queen Collective short documentaries will screen world premieres of Ballet After Dark directed by B. Monet and If There Is Light directed by Haley Elizabeth Anderson. The Queen Collective is a program developed by Proctor and Gamble and Queen Latifah with Flavor Unit Entertainment to accelerate gender and racial equality behind the camera. The event will take place at the Tribeca Festival Hub on Friday, April 26 at 5:30p.m.
Waldo on Weed will world premiere on May 3, 2019 at the SVA Theatre 2 at 8:30p.m. Waldo is the son of Brian and Danielle Dwyer. Waldo is diagnosed with cancer. The family proceeds with a controversial and illegal treatment plan of cannabis. After the screening, medical marijuana expert Doctor Junella Chin, patient Lily Derwin, subject Danielle Dwyer, and Senator Daylin Leach will have a discussion moderated by actor, comedian and author Whoopi Goldberg.

The 18th annual Tribeca Film Festival was curated from over 9,295 film submissions. The feature program includes 103 films from 124 filmmakers.
"Our goal each year is to strike a balance between discovering new talent and showcasing new projects by notable filmmakers and storytellers. At Tribeca, we believe in amplifying fresh voices as well as celebrating the continued success of artists in the industry," said Paula Weinstein, Executive Vice President of Tribeca Enterprises. "The art of filmmaking is displayed across the program in both narrative and documentary films."
Anniversaries are being celebrated at this year's festival. Apocalypse Now: Final Cut celebrating Francis Ford Coppola's film 40 years later will screen. Say Anything, Reality Bites and Spinal Tap are marking dates as well.
In Living Color is reuniting 25 years after the finale show. Creator and star Keenan Ivory Wayans, co-stars Shawn Wayans, Kim Wayans, Tommy Davidson, Rosie Perez, and David Alan Grier will attend.
