Big Apple Film Festival Honors Cuba Gooding Jr

The Big Apple Film Festival 2013 will be held November 6-10, 2013 at the Tribeca Cinemas. BAFF presents the Golden Apple Award to one individual annually to recognize exceptional artistic achievement in the New York City independent film community. The 2013 Golden Apple Award will be presented to Cuba Gooding, Jr.

The Big Apple Film Festival will be celebrating 10 years running this year. Founded by Jonathan Marc Lipp, the BAFF will continue to bring the New York independent film community together to display, discuss, and decorate the achievements New Yorkers have produced as well as filmmaker's who have submissions from around the country.

New York native Cuba Gooding, Jr. starred in the classic film Boyz in the Hood that led to more Hollywood films and then to the moment he captured the Academy's attention. Gooding was awarded an Oscar TM for his role in Jerry Maguire that left most of the world chanting his famous catch phrase from the movie, "Show Me the Money!" Following his Oscar win, Gooding held that mantra and found his way to independent cinema. He continues to please audiences of all genres doing starring, supporting and voice lending roles. His recent performance in The Butler shows his comedic timing to be ever so crisp.

The Big Apple Film Festival will honor Cuba Gooding, Jr. on Saturday, November 9, 2013 at 8:30 pm. The festival will collectively present feature films, short film blocks, industry panels and parties on its 2013 schedule.
