IFP Honoring Todd Haynes at Gotham Awards

The Independent Filmmaker Project is honoring Director Todd Haynes at this year's 25th Annual Gotham Independent Film Awards. The Gotham Awards honors a director, an actor/actress, and an industry tribute each year along with competitive awards.
Todd Haynes' debut feature in 1991 was Poison, which won the Grand Jury Prize at Sundance. Velvet Goldmine received a Special Jury Prize at Cannes in 1998. In 2002, Far from Heaven released and it received four Oscar nominations. Haynes won five Emmy's in 2011 for the mini-series Mildred Pierce. His most recent work, the feature film Carol, premiered at the 2015 Cannes Film Festival and garnered a Best Actress award for Rooney Mara.
Last year, the IFP honored director Bennett Miller, actress Tilda Swinton, and Netflix's Ted Sarandos.
The eight competitive awards are Best Feature, Best Actress, Best Actor, Best Documentary, Bingham Ray Breakthrough Director, Breakthrough Actor, Audience Award, and Best Screenplay. Submissions are still being accepted in all of the categories except Audience Award until September 17th. Nominees will be announced on October 22nd. The Gotham Awards ceremony will take place on November 30th at Cipriani Wall Street in New York.
