New York WILD FF Includes Demme and Meru Docs

(released 1/17/2016)

The third annual New York WILD Film Festival takes place January 28-31, 2016.  All of the films are documentaries about exploration, adventure, wildlife, and the environment.

There is one film this year that is not a doc and it is Ain’t No Fish, which is a stop motion animation.  A couple of wild highlights are the short What's Motivating Hayes and the feature Meru.

On January 30, the screening of What's Motivating Hayes includes a Q&A with director Jonathan Demme and biologist Tyrone Hayes during the Afternoon Program.  Yes, that Jonathan Demme that directed Philadelphia and The Silence of the Lambs.

On Sunday, the feature Meru screens at 1:00pm.  It is followed at 3:50 with the panel Pushing the Limits: Expeditions and Filmmaking that will feature the directors of Meru and A Line Across the Sky.

Everything takes place at The Explorer's Club, 46 East 70th Street in Manhattan.  To learn more and get tickets, go to www.nywildfilmfestival.com.
