Brainwashing Doc opens with Director & Producer

(released 3/7/2016)

Hailing from Manhattan, documentary filmmaker Jen Senko's latest feature The Brainwashing of My Dad had its festival premiere at Cinequest Film Festival in San Jose, California on March 5.

Jen Senko made her film to describe what she calls a phenomenon and worked to uncover the political and commercial machine behind it.  Senko takes a close look at her father as he was changed from someone that she describes as a non-political Kennedy Democrat to an angry, Right-Wing fanatic.

Bringing some big name recognition to the project, Matthew Modine (Full Metal Jacket) lent his voice as the narrator of the film alongside Senko.  The film was produced by Modine and Adam Rackoff and Academy Award nominee Bill Plympton created animations and the movie poster for the film.

Also working on "Brainwashing" were Kala Mandrake (editor/writer/camera), Melodie Bryant (camera/sound/writer), Rachael Levine (cinematographer), and Fiore DeRosa (producer/interviewer).  DeRosa previously worked with Senko on the documentary The Vanishing City.

The theatrical premiere is March 18 at The Cinema Village.  There will be a Q&A accompanying the 7:10pm screening with the director Jen Senko and one of the producers Adam Rackoff moderated by film critic Joe Neumaier.

"Brainwashing" is also opening at Laemmle Music Hall in Los Angeles on March 18 and followed by special screenings in cities throughout the spring.  At the same time, the film will be available on major VOD platforms like iTunes through Gravitas Ventures.

Cinema Village is located at 22 East 12th Street in Manhattan.
