Playback: The Brooklyn Watch Party announced its program taking place November 6th and 7th. The 2 day event is a collaborative joint hosted by BAM, Spike Lee, and Lee and Clara Wu Tsai (owners of the Liberty and Nets). The event is created by filmmaker Nicholas Ma.

Along with Ma, the films are curated by special guests Questlove, Bryan Stevenson, and John Turturro. Questlove picked The King of Comedy and the music documentary Soul to Soul. Bryan Stevenson picked Salaam Bombay! and City of God. John Turturro picked The Battle of Algiers and Divorce Italian Style. All three will be in person.

Everything starts Friday with Spike Lee's classic Crooklyn. It is playing at BAM's Howard Gilman Opera House at 7pm. He is attending a talkback along with Alfre Woodard, Cinqué Lee, Joie Lee, and Zelda Harris.

It wouldn't be Brooklyn without a party! Starting at 11am on Saturday and going till 5pm, there is a street party outside the Peter Jay Sharp Building on Lafayette Avenue.

While the party is going on outside, movies will be inside. Here's the schedule all on Saturday:

11:00am - The Battle of Algiers

  1:45pm - City of God

  2:00pm - The King of Comedy

  4:45pm - Soul to Soul

  4:50pm - Divorce Italian Style

  7:30pm - Salaam Bombay!
