Black Film Space will host a Panel Series: Breaking Into Film Festivals. The panel will feature guest speakers Dana Verde (Writer/Director) and Melanie Sharee (American Black Film Festival Programming Director). Sundance is not the only place to celebrate film in the snow. The SnowTown Film Festival will be held January 27 & 28, 2017. Created as a festival that celebrates the long north New York winters through the medium of film, this cultural experience is centered in downtown Watertown, NY. The schedule includes a Friday night red carpet reception and feature film, with the second day devoted to official film selections. The New York International Short Film Festival is accepting submissions for live action, documentary, and animated short films and music videos. The festival will be May 30-June 1, 2017 at the Landmark Sunshine Cinema in New York City. Early deadline is December 3, 2016. Details here:

On Saturday, December 10, 2016, there is a free screening of MEET THE PATELS at Owen Dolen Recreation Center, Bronx. Screening is 2p.m. - 4p.m. and is free. Details here:
