ABC7NY will broadcast the annual Puerto Rican Day parade on Sunday, June 13 from noon to 2pm on ABC 7, ABC7NY.com and streaming platforms Roku, Apple TV, Amazon Fire TV, and Android TV. Hosts of the day will be ABC Eyewitness News anchors Joe Torres and David Navarro as well as Sunny Hostin, co-host from The View.

The cast of "In the Heights" will serve as Grand Marshall of this year's parade. The cast plan to share their memories of going to the parade and growing up in NYC as Puerto Rican or Latino. Written by Lin-Manuel Miranda and Quiara Hudes, "In The Heights", Warner Brother’s new film, features an all Latino cast. Puerto Ricans in prominent roles include Anthony Ramos, Jimmy Smits, Gregory Diaz, and Lin-Manuel Miranda.

The parade will also celebrate the 500th anniversary of the founding of San Juan, Puerto Rico. Official kick-off of the founding anniversary will take place September 2021 and will feature a calendar of activities and programming.  Look for iconic horse breed Puerto Rican Paso Fino, known for it’s natural gait will be spotlighted. A traditional 19th century music and dance la Danza, created in Puerto Rico, will also be featured in the parade broadcast.
