NYC Homecoming Concert in Central Park

(released 7/3/2021)

"Good morning, everybody and happy July. We are officially in the summer of New York City and it's going to be absolutely amazing." Mayor Bill de Blasio said at the start of his press conference July 1, 2021. The Mayor announced the following three performers who stepped forward and said they wanted to be a part of New York City's comeback.

Son of Queens Paul Simon, Jennifer Hudson, and the Boss Bruce Springsteen will be lending their talents to the Homecoming concert scheduled for August 21, 2021 in Central Park. The Mayor wanted this concert to not only signal the resilience of New Yorkers. He also wanted to reward NYers for getting vaccinated from the virus that has plagued the globe in the last year and a half.

As of Thursday, 9,303,347 doses have been administered. Vaccines will continue to be administered even through the holiday weekend of July 4th at places like Highland Park in Brooklyn, Orchard Beach in The Bronx, and Park of the Americas in Queens the Mayor said in his press conference.
