Brooklyn Workforce Innovations and the Mayor's Office of Film, Theatre and Broadcasting collaborate on the Made in NY Production Assistant Training Program. This program is a free four week training that certifies your two year commitment to NY Production. It is a generous liaison between career minded hopefuls with minimal resources or connections to the Production Industry, but are full of hard work, dedication, and the dream to follow through. To date, the program has certified 149 people to work on top caliber sets like Gossip Girl and Spiderman 3.
To further develop resident New Yorkers who want to segway into the industry, a panel will be held on Thursday, January 15, 2009 @ N.Y.C. College of Technology in Brooklyn. Learn from the students who completed the program and understand the path they have taken in the city's production industry.
The panel Made in NY Production Assistants: A Peer to Peer Discussion begins at 6 pm. Doors open at 5:30 pm. Seating is limited and available on a first come, first served basis. RSVP to message@film.nyc.gov by Tuesday, January 13, 2009. The panel will take place at the NYC College of Technology, Atrium Amphitheater, Room AG30, located on Tillary Street, between Adams Street and Jay Street, Brooklyn.
