The Athena Film Festival is a celebration and elevation of women's leadership. Films in the festival showcase women who lead, resist, and refute preconceived notions of what they can be and do. Bolstering the pipeline of women creatives who are telling these stories and fostering a network of women in film is the vibe of this 12th annual festival happening March 2022.
The Athena Film Festival is a joint project of Barnard College's Athena Center for Leadership and Women and Hollywood. The festival's founding sponsor is the Artemis Rising Foundation and its CEO Regina K. Scully. This year, COVID precautions are still being followed and in-person attendance is for vaccinated audiences. The festival will also offer a virtual experience of the festival as well. Passes are currently available for both presentations of events. The virtual program will run March 11-20, 2022. In person will be three days on the Barnard campus in Morningside Heights with features, shorts, documentary films, panel conversations and filmmaker Q and A events.
Celebrate, mourn, advocate for a more inclusive understanding of what leadership looks like. This after almost two years of isolation, the festival will bring together filmmakers, allies, audiences, community partners, and sponsors. Join them by retaining your pass here:
