Mrs Maisel has received much attention for the show's depiction of an Upper West Side New York housewife evolving into a standup comedian. Filmed in NYC, the housewife is Miriam "Midge" Maisel. Midge is played by Rachel Brosnahan who earned a Primetime EMMY award for Outstanding Actress in a Comedy series, two Golden Globe Awards, three Screen Actors Guild Awards and two Critics Choice Awards.
