The Patterson Premiere and Talk

The Patterson: Another Bronx Tale, is a documentary about NYCHA project, the Patterson. The housing project is located in the South Bronx. The film explores the people who have lived in the community for decades, their safety issues, gun violence reform efforts by the residents and features Hall of Fame NBA star Tiny Archibald.

The documentary will have a benefit screening with a theatrical red carpet premiere on May 17, 2022. The screening will be held at the Schomburg Center for Research in Black Culture located at 515 Malcolm X Boulevard, NY. The event runs 7:30 - 10:00 pm and will feature a talkback and VIP Reception.

The film is directed by Bahati Adrian Best, who will attend the screening for a panel moderated by Dean Meminger of NY1. Best has worked 50 years as a cameraman for ABC Good Morning America.  The screening is being presented by The Harlem Film Company in association with Imagenation. The Harlem Film Company is a film and digital media studio founded by Cheryl Hill and Jamal Joseph.

Also speaking at the event will be James Dobbins (Guns Down, Life Up), Jerelyn Rodriguez (The Knowledge House), and Clarisa Alayeto (Bronx activist).

A portion of the proceeds from this red carpet affair benefit Guns Down, Life Up, The Knowledge House and a scholarship for youth in the Patterson housing complex. The scholarship is awarded each year to a young college student in the housing project of Patterson.
