Penn's Arquette's Open Brooklyn Film Festival

(released 6/4/2022)

Hollywood royalty opened the Brooklyn Film Festival last night for the screening of Signs of Love. Sean Penn and Rosanna Arquette made appearances. Penn was there to support both of his kids, Hopper Penn and Dylan Penn, as both starred in the film. Arquette was in the film as well as her daughter Zoë Bleu Sidel.

Also attending the screening were actors Wass Stevens, Jahlil T. Hall, Jeff Arelus, producer David Michaels, and writer/director Clarence Fuller. Actor Vincent D'Onofrio came with Sean Penn.

Signs of Love is the directorial feature debut for New York filmmaker Clarence Fuller, who has made his mark creating music videos.

"Signs of Love" takes place in the Port Richmond section of Philadelphia, a tough neighborhood where cultures mix but the law of the streets still rules. Frankie, a young man from north Philly who dreams of a better life, struggles to provide a normal existence for his teen nephew. Frankie just hopes they can escape the traps of petty crime and substance abuse his father has fallen into. When Frankie meets Jane, a deaf girl from a well-off nearby family, he suddenly sees hope for love, and a better life – but only if he can escape the predicament of the streets and the influence of his older sister.

Signs of Love is being distributed by Blue Fox Entertainment. The Brooklyn Film Festival continues at Windmill Studios through next weekend. Check out the schedule and get your tickets at brooklynfilmfestival.org.
