The 12th Annual Queens World Film Festival will be both live in-person and virtual. Five different venues will house the festival during the live week of films November 1 - 6. In-person screenings will be at Queens Theatre, Flushing Town Hall, Museum of Moving Image, Kaufman Astoria Studios, and The Local. The virtual presentation will be November 20 - December 4 on FilmFestivalFlix.com.
Queens World's mission is to advance public participation in film screening by utilizing traditional and alternative screening locations and venues to screen independent cinema. Founded in 2010 by Queens residents/filmmakers Donald Preston and Katha Cato, in 2014 it became a 501c3 non-profit. In 2019, the live festival, multiple encore screenings and media events served over 11,000 participants with more than half of those coming from outside the borough of Queens.
