Comedian and former Daily Show correspondent Ronny Chieng has been shooting a comedy pilot for 20th Television and is expected to go to Hulu.
Chieng will be playing the role of the General Manager of the Brooklyn Nets. The story is inspired by, but not about the real owner of the Nets Joe Tsai. Tsai is known for being the owner, but his wealth came from being a co-founder of Alibaba Group.
The show is being produced by Melvin Mar and Jake Kasdan, the team that put together Fresh Off The Boat for ABC. Chieng is also known for acting in Crazy Rich Asians and Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings.
The production was shooting on the Upper West Side on Thursday, November 3rd at 116th and Riverside Drive near Columbia University. Here are some pics from set and a video of one of the takes in which a dog is working with Ronny.
