The 32nd annual New York Jewish Film Festival is taking place January 12-23, 2023. The festival will explore the Jewish experience through films from around the world. The 2023 edition will feature in-person screenings at the Walter Reade Theater, 165 West 65th Street, NYC, and two virtual offerings. The NYJFF line-up has 21 features and 8 shorts programmed.
A 4k restoration of 1997 documentary A Life Apart: Hasidism in America by Oren Rudavsky and Menachem Daum will have its world premiere on Thursday, January 19 at 7p.m. The screening will be followed by a panel discussion including the filmmakers Oren Rudavsky and Menachem Daum.
The festival opens with America by Ofir Raul Graizer. This will be the film's New York Premiere. The screening event includes a Q&A following the film with the filmmaker Ofir Raul Graizer.
The Closing Film is Alegría by Violeta Salama. This screening event also includes a Q&A with the filmmaker Violeta Salama.
