Producer Matt Damon and the bosses, Robert De Niro and Jane Rosenthal, showed up in the haze of wildfire smoke blanketing the city to open up the Tribeca Festival. Kiss the Future the opening night documentary film about U2's Sarajevo concert, produced by Matt Damon, Ben Affleck and Sarah Anthony, was celebrated.
The opening night documentary film was presented at the Borough of Manhattan Community College under a lite marquee and dressed with a plush red carpet. Ticket holders lined up and pass holders were ushered in to see the red carpet in action from a secure distance all the while phones rolling video and snapping shots of their favorite stars. Director of the film Nenad Cicin-Sain walked the red carpet as did Jennifer Esposito, Brendan Fraser, Damon, De Niro, Rosenthal, Peter Coyote, Adam Goldberg, Piper Perabo, Stephen Kay, and Paula Weinstein.
