The "Made in NY" PA training Program was launched in 2006 to attract new diverse faces and productions to the city of New York film and television industry. A program of Brooklyn Workforce Innovations the purpose is to bring unemployed and low-income residents of the city into the workforce providing training and entry-level positions in film and television. The program is a partnership between Brooklyn Workforce Innovations and the Mayor's Office of Media and Entertainment.
The next training cycle is set to begin in June 2024. Information sessions are held regulary to help you understand the work life of a Production assistant. PA's can expect long 12 to 14 days, Early morning and overnight work schedules, physical labor, on your feet, all weather, a $210 a day payrate. To be eligible, you must have a driver's license, be at least 18 years old, currently a New York City resident among other requirements. It is best to attend the info session to get a full detailed explanation of the program requirements and offerings. The following info sessions are planned ahead of the next June program start cycle:

May 13 at 1:00p.m.
May 20 at 1:00p.m.
