The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences has a global membership of more than 10,500 film industry artists and leaders. Annually they recognize the best of the industry with the OSCARS™. In 1972, the Student Academy Awards was created by the organization. The platform recognizes emerging talent creating opportunities with the industry to showcase work.
This year is the 51st Student Academy Awards™ competition. The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences has voted for 15 students as winners. The 2024 winners join the ranks of such past Student Academy Award® winners as Patricia Cardoso, Pete Docter, Spike Lee, Patricia Riggen, and Robert Zemeckis.
The list of this year's 15 winning students includes two from NYC. In the documentary section, Rishabh Raj Jain's film "A Dream Called Khusi" (Happiness) is representing New York University. Hannah Rafkin's film "Keeper" is representing School of Visual Arts.

The awards ceremony traditionally held at the Academy's Samuel Goldwyn Theater in Beverly Hills since its inception, will be held at the ODEON Luxe Leicester Square in London this year. The theater is located at 22-24 Leicester Square, London WC2H 7LQ, United Kingdom.
The ceremony will be on Monday, October 14 at 7:00pm BST. The evening is free and open to the public to attend. Advanced tickets are required and can be found online here:

The awards ceremony is scheduled to take place from 7-8:15pm. The top film in each category will screen following the awards from 8:30-10:15 pm BST. Student Academy Award-winning films are eligible to compete for 2024 Oscars® in the Animated Short Film, Live Action Short Film or Documentary Short Film category.
