The 6th DUMBO Film Festival starts tonight October 23rd and runs through Sunday, October 27th. The festival opens with a party at Randolph Beer. Get an all access pass for the entire festival and drink free at the opening party.
All screenings take place at 1Hotel Brooklyn Bridge on Furman Street. Film blocks run the 24th through the 26th from midday through the evening. Some films in the festival history have gone on to be considered for Oscars and it's possible some of these could again. Safe Place by Sam Mirpoorian could be one. It has been picked up The New York Times and is being promoted accordingly. It screens during Block E on Friday.
The festival closes with an awards ceremony and networking on October 27th at 46 Bridge Street. It's a studio space and isn't that what harkens back to the core of DUMBO.
