John Zorn curates Japan Society Cinema Collection

Japan Society invites guest curator John Zorn to share his passion for Japanese art through six film directors he believes have been underappreciated. All of the films in the curator's line up will be screening for the first time at the Japan Society.
The monthly series called The Dark Side of the Sun: John Zorn on Japanese Cinema will begin October 18, 2014. The styles and formats represented are jidaigeki, erotica, film noir, comedy, horror, anime with a theme of the uncomfortable truths embedded in the human experience.
John Zorn is a musician that has spent much of his time traveling back and forth between Japan and the US for his work.
