Albert Maysles' In Transit selected for Tribeca

(released 3/4/2015)

Updated 3/6/2015:
Albert Maysles died at the age of 88 in his Manhattan home on the evening of Thursday, March 5. The New York Times confirmed through a family friend.

Albert Maysles's In Transit is one of twelve films in this year's World Documentary Feature competition at the Tribeca Film Festival. Entry into the competition means the highest achievements in non-fiction storytelling have been recognized.

Maysles' previous work received the National Medal of Honor last year from President Obama, Made In NY Mayor's Award for Lifetime Achievement, and garnered praise from Eastman Kodak as one of the finest cinematographers.

The documentary centers around the train, the passengers, their stories, their connectivity, and humanity.  If there is a purpose to the film, "it is to find common ground," concluded Maysles in this Vimeo video.

Tribeca Film Festival will take place April 15-26, 2015.  Currently, American Express card members have access to ticketing with general public sales beginning March 9, 2015.  Plan your days of festivaling here: www.tribecafilm.com/festival or join online conversations using #TribecaTogether.
