Marquardt's She's Lost Control Screens in New York

(released 3/15/2015)

After making the festival rounds last year, Anja Marquardt's She's Lost Control is getting a theatrical release. The feature film is playing March 20-26, 2015 at the Made in NY Media Center as part of IFP Screen Forward.

Although the MiNY Media Center is not a traditional theater, it is getting a week run in New York.  She's Lost Control will then have a theatrical run at the Laemmle NoHo 7 in North Hollywood, California beginning March 27.

Shot in and depicting a story in New York City, Marquardt, a resident of Brooklyn, went back to her German roots winning the C.I.C.A.E. Art Cinema Award at the 2014 Berlin International Film Festival.  She's Lost Control also screened at SXSW 2014 and New Directors / New Films 2014 which is put on by the Film Society of Lincoln Center at MoMA.

Distributed through Monument Releasing, it is summarized as:
Fiercely independent, Ronah works as a sexual surrogate in New York City, teaching her clients the very thing they fear most - to be intimate. Her life unravels when she starts working with a volatile new client, Johnny, blurring the thin line between professional and personal intimacy in the modern world.

The lead Ronah is played by Brooke Bloom and Johnny is played by Marc Menchaca.  The Friday, March 20 screening at 7:30pm will be followed by a Q&A with Bloom, director Anja Marquardt, actor Dennis Boustikaris, and composer Simon Taufique.

Tickets for the screening at the Made in New York Media Center must be purchased online and they are available through Eventbrite.

The Made in New York Media Center is located at 30 John Street in DUMBO, Brooklyn.
