The IndieWorks gathering on July 8 will be the second monthly installment in this, it's third year of film screenings. New York's filmmakers meet at the People's Lounge on Allen Street to present short films or webseries content. Interaction with the filmmakers is encouraged during question and answer sessions post screenings and the happy intermission atmosphere that exists at this film community event.
Last month kicked off the third year for the Congested Cat crew who produce the screening series. The winners from that evening were:
Audience Choice Award: "Rolling" was voted on by the crowd present. Silver Whiskers Award: "Tadaima" was determined by the Congested Cat team "based on a system rating 8 categories of Story, Dialogue/Writing, Direction, Acting, Cinematography, Sound, Editing, and Production Value. It goes on to screen at our end of year Best of Fest event in April!"
Indie Works is currently accepting film submissions for their August and September showcases. "Discover Shorts. Find an Audience. Build Community." is the organizers' founding statement. Full guidelines for submissions are found here: www.congestedcat.com/indieworks
