Winners on stage at the Awards Gala from The Sparrow Film Project Edition 12 at the Museum of the Moving Image - June 11, 2015.
The Sparrow Film Project is back with Edition 13

(released 2/5/2016)

The Sparrow Film Project Edition 13 will commence March 20, 2016 at the Sparrow Tavern in Astoria. The filmmaking competition is open to all who wish to participate.
It remains rooted in the projects' beginnings as a "rag-tag group of artists" picking movie titles out of hat, taking three weeks to create their art into a three minute format, and then screening the works back at the base, The Sparrow Tavern, along with an awards ceremony.

Edition 12 was held at the Museum of the Movie Image followed by an after party at the NY film studio landmark, The Astor Room. Growth in both the projects' presentation and the artists it attracts makes the awards gala a predictably sold out event.

You can participate as a filmmaker, offer up your camera kit, your acting skills, or the claymation troupe of characters you are waiting to build into your own empire of merchandising.  Registration in person is $20 cash or $25 online. If you register in person, you will receive your teams' assignment at midnight. Teams that register online will have their assignment by random drawing and emailed to them on Monday, March 21, 2016. All teams have three weeks to work with the assignment to produce a three minute finished submission.

The Sparrow Film Project will have judges decide the final films that will screen at the awards gala. The gala is an emceed event that has included live music, dancing, and libations.
