29th Columbia University Film Fest is May 13-17

Columbia University will hold the 29th annual Columbia University Film Festival in NYC from May 13-17, 2016.

The screenings will be held at the Walter Reade Theater at Lincoln Center from May 13-15 showcasing MFA Films. Sunday evening screenings will be favorites of the festival programed by the Student Selects Committee at Columbia University School of the Arts MFA Program. Monday will be a screenwriting event at MIST Harlem that will include live readings of screenplays, an alumni reception, and Annemarie Jacir will be presented the 16th annual Andrew Sarris Award.

The awards for the festival were juried by Columbia University School of the Arts Film Program and outside jurors Cinereach Head of Creative Initiatives Caroline Kaplan and CEO of BAFTA NY Julie La'Bassiere. The festival awards will be held Tuesday night at the DGA Theater and will conclude the New York events.

The festival will continue in June on the west coast.  The details are still to be released for the June 13-17 celebration of Columbia University MFA films taking place in Los Angeles.
