Sparrow Film Project 13 Screening and Gala was held June 16, 2016 at the Museum of Moving Image. The evening began with a toast and a welcome from producer Sal Milazzo as filmmakers, friends, and family collectively came to watch the three minute films made in three weeks with the parameters of Episode Thirteen's assignment.
Episode 13 encouraged the superstition, fortune, or misfortune to be present in the planning and production of each team's assignment. At the onset of the competition, one team "PM FILMS" spun the wheel and landed the misfortune of having to make two films as all other teams complete one. PM FILMS successfully completed "Are We Doing THIS?" and "POWER PLAY". Going into the Gala, three films: 13, AVA, and 13 CLONES tied with the most nominations of 5 each.
With the sold out auditorium full of movie goers, Mike Free, Sparrow Film Project Producer, introduced a magic show, card tricks, fortune cookies and the Wheel of Misfortune. The band played the audience to their feet.
