Mostel and Wilder Exhibit at Jewish Film Festival

(released 1/4/2017)

New York Jewish Film Festival will feature an Exhibition - Producers and Beyond: Zero Mostel and Gene Wilder. The late actors both began on Broadway and first encountered the other in Mel Brooks' 1968 film The Producers. Mostel is a Jewish immigrant. Mostel's parents resided in New York's Lower East Side in an orthodox family. Wilder was born to Russian immigrants in Milwaukee, Wisconsin.

The works and lives of the two actors will be explored in the exhibit on view from January 11-24, 2017 in Film Society of Lincoln Center's Frieda and Roy Furman Gallery. A compilation of the clips representing both actors' work will be on a continuous loop 12pm-9pm daily with the exception of other programming at the Elinor Bunin Munroe Film Center Amphitheater.
