Marvelous Mrs. Maisel Earns Freshman Emmy Nom

The 70th EMMY AWARDS will take place September 17, 2018 and will be hosted by SNL's Colin Jost and Michael Che. The ceremony will be broadcast on NBC live coast to coast for three hours 8-11p.m. ET/ 5-8p.m. PT from the Microsoft Theater at L.A. Live in downtown Los Angeles. Executive Producer for the 70th EMMY AWARDS show is Lorne Michaels.

Barry, GLOW, and The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel are freshman of the awards comedy series nominees. Returning shows to the nominations include Atlanta, blackish, Curb Your Enthusiasm, Silicon Valley, and Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt.

For dramas, Game of Thrones and The Americans are again nominated along with new shows The Crown, The Handmaid's Tale, Stranger Things, This Is Us, and Westworld.

Game of Thrones has the most nominations with 22, Saturday Night Live has 21 nominations, and Westworld has 21. Platforms leading in nominations are Netflix with 112, HBO with 108, and NBC with 78 nominations.

The Television Academy has over 23,000 voting members. From 1949-2001, voting members watched submissions at the Television Academy and at local hotels. From 2002-2014, members of the academy applied to be "Blue Ribbon Panels" to judged categories by watching DVDs at home. Today and since 2015, eligible members watch content through a secure online platform. Final online voting for winners begins August 13, 2018.

The Creative Emmy Awards will air Saturday, September 15, 2018 at 8p.m. ET/PT.  The 70th EMMY AWARDS will air on September 17, 2018.
