Queens World Film Festival 2019 Highlights

Queens World Film Festival has begun with 200 films in 11 days. Filmmakers from around the world share their stories connecting us all. Here are a few highlights in the film program lineup to look for in the coming days:

Saturday morning, Women in Film and Television will sponsor a continental breakfast followed by the panel Making It In New York: A Producer's Guide. Seasoned NY-based producers will discuss producing film and TV in New York. Gigi Semone, the Executive Director of the New York State Governor's Office of Motion Picture and Television Development, will be the panel moderator. The morning panel will be held at the Zukor Theatre at Kaufman Astoria Studios. RSVP HERE: www.queensworldfilmfestival.com

Indie Collect hosts THOUSAND PIECES OF GOLD with Spirit of Queens honorees Nancy Kelly (Director) and Kenji Yamamoto (Producer) in attendance. The screening will take place at the Museum of Moving Image at 7p.m. on Tuesday, March 26. After the screening, there will be a discussion with the honorees and host Sandra Schulberg, the Executive Director of Indie Collect.

ABOUT A DONKEY will screen Sunday, March 24 and is directed by Christina Raia. Showtime is 5:30p.m. in the Bartos Room at the Museum of Moving Image.

POWER TO THE FILMMAKER: BLOCKCHAIN FOR FUNDRAISING, PRODUCTION AND DISTRIBUTION OF INDIE FILMS is Thursday evening at the Zukor Theatre on March 28 from 5:30p.m.-7:00p.m.  Free admission with registration here: www.queensworldfilmfestival.com

HABANEROS will screen Saturday, March 30 at the Zukor Theatre. The short narrative will be part of a mix bag of 5 short and varied tales starting at noon. This film is the directorial debut of Sri Mirajkar.

On Sunday, March 31 in the Environmentally Speaking block, SICKNESS will screen at 1 pm in the Bartos Room.  Director Hamza Zaman's short narrative will make its East coast debut.
